Canada’s National Arabian Championship
Get ready to witness the best showing of Arabian horses you’ll ever see. Recognized as the longest-running Arabian show, this prestigious event brings dedicated followers and attendees across North America. This event features a variety of competitions, including Western, Ranch, and English riding, as well as dressage and horse jumping.
Be sure to check out the family-friendly Aurora Experience Barn Day on August 11th, featuring face painting, barn tours, swag bags, colouring books, and a chance to get close to the Arabian horses.
Don’t miss the chance to see these beautiful animals in action and celebrate the National Arabian Champions of Canada.

Women’s Canadian Fast Pitch Championship
August marks a massive month for the Red Deer Ladies Fastball Association, hosting both the 2024 Women's and Intermediate Fastball Provincials and the Women’s Canadian Fast Pitch Championship. Experience the fast pitch action with teams from across the country competing to take home the National Championship.

Alberta on the Plate
Alberta on the Plate is a province-wide celebration of the incredible bounty grown and produced across our beautiful province. This ten-day dine-around festival highlights local restaurants and products, connecting consumers to agriculture through our bustling food and beverage industry. We’re lucky enough to have three fantastic restaurants from Central Alberta participating this year: 53 on Ross, DNA Gardens and the Red Deer Resort and Casino.

Red Deer Filipino Music and Food Street Festival
Immerse yourself in the lively culture of the Philippines at the Red Deer Filipino Music and Food Street Festival. This three-day festival highlights a variety of Filipino cuisine, DJ performances, and live bands. Enjoy interactive activities and family-friendly fun throughout the weekend!

Afro-Caribbean Festival

Kerry Wood Nature Centre Family Summer Sleepover
Looking for an adventure without straying too far from home? Join Kerry Wood Nature Centre Summer Sleepover! Enjoy games, roast marshmallows, go for a hike and, of course, sleep under the stars. A delicious camp-worthy dinner and continental breakfast will be provided.
All ages are welcome to join in on the fun. Make sure to bring your own sleeping bag and toiletries and dress for the weather. While tents will be provided, you have the option to bring your own if you prefer. A list of other suggested items to bring will be included on the registration receipt. Remember, children MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Spaces are limited, so register one adult to hold your family spot by 7:30pm on August 7.
Bo’s Bar and Stage Spritiza Palooza
Throw on your best beachwear and head to Bo’s for their first daytime beach party. Join them on their Back Patio for DJ beach vibes, dancing, and of course the Bo’s Aperol Beer Garden. Guests can enjoy a lively atmosphere with refreshing cocktails and beach-themed fun, perfect for a summer celebration!

Capstone Night Markets

Open Farm Days at DNA Gardens
Open Farm Days are on at DNA Gardens, promising fun-packed days on the farm for the whole family! Guests can enjoy farm tours on wagon rides, as well as explore vendors, the cafe, kids’ activities and various fun walks and hikes around the property.
Saturday will feature pizza, while Sunday morning offers a pancake breakfast. For those wanting to make a weekend of it, camping is available. For more information, head to their website, here.

Friday Nite Night Hike
Wrap up the summer season with a hike at Kerry Wood Nature Centre. This Friday Nite Night Hike offers a chance to explore the Sanctuary on an interactive guided hike around the 4.0km trail. Participants will enjoy a scenic evening walk under the stars, complete with refreshments. This is a drop-in hike which will begin shortly after 8:00pm. End of Summer Party at the Market
