Mitchell Pond Fishing
This beautiful stocked trout pond in the City of Red Deer is accessible only by foot, a short 10-15 minute walk from Heritage Ranch. This pond has everything to make a family outing enjoyable. Surrounding the pond are vast areas of grass for the kids to play on. There is a small playground, a day use picnic shelter, and public washrooms and all are accessible within 100 ft of the pond. Fishing at Mitchell Pond is permitted. However all Alberta province wide regulations involving sportfishing must be adhered to. Fishing Regulations:
All people aged 16 through 65 (inclusive) are required to obtain a fishing license and comply with the Alberta Sportfishing Regulations in order to fish within the city of Red Deer on public waters. Free fishing opportunities exist for seniors, aged 65 and older, and on special Family Fishing Weekends throughout the year. Fishing within the City of Red Deer and the Waskasoo Park system is permitted daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Closed signs will be posted if an area is not available for fishing.
