Fun Days

Star Wars Day

May 4
“May the 4th be with you.” What started as pun warmly shared by fans has become a full-fledged Star Wars holiday. In Red Deer our many fans can celebrate this iconic day by heading down to one of our Public libraries for a little Star Wars fun. At The Dawe Branch hang out with Red Deer’s R2-D2, Build and race Lego Star Wars race pods or listen to a story read by Yoda! There is even a draw, and if you dress up you can enter twice. If you’re at the downtown branch then get galactic and celebrate with activities, popcorn and “A New Hope” on the big screen in the Snell Auditorium. The Timberland branch is also getting into the festivities with Star Wars related activities, and who knows, maybe with a little luck the force will be with you to.

Eat What You Want Day

May 11
Isn’t it great to celebrate a day that gives us permission to eat whatever we want; where we can throw caution to the wind and indulge without feeling guilty? May 11 is one of those days and in Red Deer we can celebrate at one of our many restaurants like The Old Mexico Taco Buffet for their all you can eat tacos. If it’s Asian food you crave then The Fusion Cafe is great with their gluten free lemon chicken yum or you can take in some authentic Indian cuisine at The Tandoor N Flame. The key is to eat something that you truly enjoy, so whatever food that is for you, get celebrating!
