Located 25 kilometers west of Red Deer along Highway 11, the town of Sylvan Lake is situated on the Southeast edge of Sylvan Lake.
Some interesting facts about Sylvan Lake:
- The anniversary of the founding is celebrated every year in Sylvan Lake as “1913 Days”
- In 1983, the original waterslide was replaced with Wild Rapids Waterslide, which is the largest facility of its kind in Western Canada
- In 2014, Sylvan Lake was the winner of the Kraft Hockeyville contest, which allowed them the rights to host an NHL pre-season game between the Calgary Flames and the Arizona Coyotes
