Nine Easter Weekend Things to do in Red Deer

What's happening in Red Deer and central Alberta for Easter Long Weekend.

From whimsical egg hunts to charming Easter markets, the community is abuzz with the spirit of celebration. Check out all the fun happening this year for Easter in central Alberta.

1.The annual FREE Easter Egg Hunt with the Easter Bunny at Gasoline Alley Farmers Market returns Saturday, March 30th  from 12:00pm – 2:00pm. This year also brings the fun addition of face painting from 11:20pm – 2:30pm, sure to be an EGGCELENT time! Click here for more information.

2. Fun, games, crafts, prizes AND an Easter Egg Hunt? What fun to be had at the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame Saturday, March 30 from 10:30am – 12:00pm! Only $20 for a family of four, there’s only one Easter Egg Hunt and it goes down at 10:30am sharp so don’t be late! Click here for more information.  

3. It’s an Easter Eggstravaganza at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre! Have a hoppy Easter with your family on Sunday, March 31 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Everyone welcome, $3 per person or $10 per family. Click here for more information.  

4. Visit the Easter Bunny for photos at Parkland Mall. No appointments required, there are photo opportunities from Thursday, March 28 – Saturday, March 30. Each child will also receive a goodie bag! 5. Blue Grass Garden Centre is hosting a local vendors Easter Market March 30th and 31st from 10:00am – 4:00pm which also features a petting zoo, kids activities and more!  

6. Create memories to last a lifetime with Bo the Bunny in Bo Bunny’s Garden at Bower Place, March 23-30, 2024. Kids can also wander into the chocolate garden and choose their own chocolate carrot (while supplies last) and paint a complimentary egg after visiting Bo in the Garden! 7. Canada 150 in Capstone is the backdrop for a classic Easter Egg Hunt with multiple start times of 11am, 1pm, and 3pm. Stop by April 1st from 10:00am – 4:00pm for a petting zoo, spring themed photo booth, rock painting and more! Click here for more information.

8. Grab your flashlight and head out on a nighttime Easter Egg Hunt, keep an eye out for bunnies hiding in the woods! Or get whisked away on a horse-drawn carriage where the annual Heritage Ranch Easter Egg hunt awaits!
