Live music is happening at Bos, Bar and Stage this weekend with Vissia and special guest Carl Glacier this Friday night, tickets can be purchased online or at the door. They will also be hosting Don’t Call It a Comeback fest Saturday night a celebration of music with 100 percent of the door revenue going to the artists, don’t miss it.
The Red Deer Arts Council presents First Friday, March 4th, so why not join the galleries downtown Red Deer in celebration of our local, regional, and national artistic talent. Here are a few of the Galleries hosting opening receptions where you will get the chance to meet the artist or go on an informal tour.
Head down to the Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery for your last chance to see the exhibit “Ya Ha Tinda - The Ranch: Photography by Arto Djerdjerian” ending March 5 and Our West County: Plein Air Painting in Alberta’s Eastern Slopes ending March 12. As part of First Friday, they will be having an opening reception from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm along with informal tours.
Looking Back With Rose Tinted Glasses By Edith Chu is on display at The Viewpoint Gallery in the City of Red Deer’s Arts and Culture Services Centre at 5205-48th Ave. This exhibition of watercolour paintings describes experiences and memories from Chu’s life in China from 2010-2015. Their opening reception will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and an Artist Talk starting at 6:30 pm.
The Red Deer Arts Council is pleased to present Shiny Things: Red Deer Arts Council Visual Arts Members Juried Exhibit, opening reception happening Friday from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. This Exhibit will run from March 1 to May 1 in the Kiwanis Gallery at the Red Deer Public Library.

If you love Musical theatre, you will love Mamma Mia presented by the Hunting Hills High School March 2 - 5 at the Red Deer Memorial Centre. Tickets are online or can be purchased at the HHHS Bookstore, for more detail check out their website.
The Red Deer Home Show is back at Westerner Park this weekend with great deals, 1000s of products and experts to help you along your way. You can buy your tickets online and save or purchase them at the door. Free admission for those 12 and under and remember parking is free.
Sylvan lake has Rocky Mountain Snowkite Riot Race Saturday and Sunday. The competitors will cover 50km, 2 gates, and 3 laps in a regatta-style race to claim the throne in this long-distance snow kite competition.
Have you been to Lacombe’s Flatiron Building Museum? If not, then go check out their 1867 Rebellion and Confederation Exhibition on display until March 26. Their hours are Wednesday to Saturday from 10 am till 4 pm.
Come on down to the Baymont Inns and Suites by Wyndham and support your local vendors for the It’s Almost Spring Craft Show and market where they have all types of unique shopping. The show is this Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm and Admission is Free with Gift card draws and Basket Giveaways.
March Into Spring at Parkland Nurseries and Garden Centre is happening March 4-6. There will be door prizes. draws, free hot beverages and Dean Ray will be performing on Sunday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
