What’s Happening this Weekend | July 15 - 17, 2022
Check out what's happening this weekend in Red Deer and central Alberta!
1. Prime Stock Theatre presents Bard on Bower, they are having two performances of Richard II one on Friday, July 15, 7:00 pm, and again on Saturday, July 16, at 7:00 pm. Bard in a Box: Bottom's Up performance on Saturday, July 16, at 1:00 pm and a performance of Midsummer Night's Dream on Sunday at 1:00 pm. Join them at Bower Ponds, admission is free, though any donations are appreciated. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and enjoy some bite-sized Shakespeare in the Park.
2. Check out the Ross Street Patio Performances sometime this summer, the Patio features free, live music for the Summer and early Fall season. Wednesday performances are from 4:30 – 6:30 pm, and Thursday's & Friday's 12:00 pm -1:30 pm. They are proudly featuring talented local musicians and bands that contribute to the amazing atmosphere you will find on the beloved Patio.
3. Lacombe Days is happening this weekend. Go and experience the fun at Lacombe Days 2022! Their annual 3-day festival celebrates the community with tons of low to no-cost family-friendly fun. Events include BBQs, pancake breakfasts, parade, fireworks, food trucks, a community market, Dr. Von Hooligan's Family Circus, pool party, blacksmith demonstrations, museum tours, bouncy castles, show and shine, horse pull, and more!
4. DNA Gardens present a Night-Time Bat Walk with Bat Biologist on Saturday, July 16. They are located in Red Deer County near Elnora. This fun and educational Alberta Community Bat Association biologist will give a bat talk; watch bats leave their boxes. Supper and cocktails are available for purchase. 5. Summer Outdoor Market at Gasoline Alleys Farmers Market is on this Saturday, July 16 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. This summer they are expanding the market outdoors through June, July, and August. The Summer Outdoor Market will take place every Saturday afternoon from 1:00- 4:00 pm. Stop by to see their new vendors. Later that evening they are having a Drive-In Movie at the Market from 7:30-9:30 pm. Join them for a classic drive-in movie evening, the movie is “How To Train Your Dragon”! Doors open at 6:30 pm for a 7:30 pm start. Market Kitchen will be open, so all evening you will be able to enjoy food, drinks, and snacks from our restaurants: lots of different food options including: Taco Monster, Craft Beer Commonwealth, and Birdy Coffee Co on site too! 6. Come on down to Sawback Brewery for a pint or two and take in some live entertainment. James Adams will be performing on Saturday, July 16, 3:00-6:00 pm.
7. The Track on 2 is happy to present the Legendary Life of Tom Petty featuring Clayton Bellamy on Saturday, July 16 at7:00 pm. Check out their website for more information and tickets. The Track on2 also has their Sunday Race, Post time is 1:10 pm. Enjoy the excitement and bet on the live horse racing (over 18). Attendance and parking are free and all ages are welcome They are family-friendly and have stick horse races, games, and other activities for the kids. That evening they are having another live performance The Legend of George Jones feat. Duane Steele at 5:00 pm. Check out their website for more information and tickets.
