What’s Happening This Weekend April 22 - 24
If you’re looking for some great music and entertainment this weekend, then Red Deer is the place to be. We have everything from Improv comedy, amazingly talented musicians and don’t forget, the Red Deer Rebels are battling it out in the playoffs. It's going to be a great weekend.
1. Bull Skit Comedy is bringing Maestro Improv created by legend Keith Johnstone to the Stage this Saturday starting at 8:00 pm at the Scott Block theatre. Improvisors of various backgrounds and experiences will entertain the audience in a competition-style show, not to be missed. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by going to Eventbrite.
2. Go to Craft Beer Commonwealth & Birdy Coffee Co in the Gasoline Alley Market Kitchen for an evening of live music this Saturday with some of Red Deer’s most impressive singer-songwriters. Wyatt C Louis, Stefan Palm and Jaydin Vonkeman will be entertaining us as we sit back and enjoy a pint or two from Craft beer Commonwealth. The show starts at 7:00 pm and tickets can be purchased by going online.
3. Paeton Cameron is performing live at the Sawback Brewing Taproom this Saturday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, so come on down and support our local musicians.
4. Get ready to dance this weekend at Bo’s Bar and Stage this Friday as Cherries on Red presents Lose Yourself to Dance. Then on Sunday Hawksley Workman, a Juno Award-winning, Gold Record certified singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist will be performing. Tickets for these shows can be purchased by going to Eventbrite with details to be found on their website or Facebook page.
5. Also, time to cheer on the Red Deer Rebels! The WHL playoff’s return to the Peavey Mart Centrium as our Red Deer Rebels take on the Wheat Kings this Friday and Saturday at 7:00 pm. There are still tickets at Tickets Alberta so get out and support your local team. Go Rebels Go!
6. If you are into Disc Golf then you might want to check out The Vic Park Classic Disc Golf Tournament happening Sunday, April 24 at the Victoria and Kentwood park, here in Red Deer. Tournament entry is $25 (+$10 for non-PDGA members) and will include a day of disc golf, a player’s pack, a chance at prizes and trophies for the top finishers in each division. This is a Family event suitable for all ages and skill levels.
