Golf

The Red Deer River majestically wraps itself around the River Bend Golf Course and 420 acres of forested parkland. With an 18-hole, par 72 championship course, a 9-hole Mini-Links course, a large Driving Range with matt and grass tees, two pitching greens and a large putting green, and a first-class CPGA staffed Teaching Centre, a full-service Golf Shop, Grill Restaurant & Patio dining, and all food & beverage services for Banquet facilities in the Clubhouse, we are confident we will meet and exceed your expectations for quality and value in your golf, outdoor recreation, retail and culinary experiences.

Riverbend Grill  

Escape the busy city and enjoy this stunning patio and take in the beauty and tranquility of this area. This is the perfect place to watch a beautiful Alberta sunset. The Riverbend Grill is open every day from 8:00 am – 10:00 pm.  

Discovery Canyon

Discovery Canyon features a natural river-fed water pool, playground area, concession and washrooms. Discovery Canyon is typically open from June until the September long weekend (dates dependent on weather conditions).  This seasonal water park is the perfect place to cool down on a hot summer day!  

Recreation  

There are plenty of things to do from lakes for fishing, a canoe/raft launch, 9 km of hiking trails along the Red Deer River and in the hills above the river basin, and picnic tables throughout the park available for public use. For runners, hikers, and biking enthusiasts, the River Bend Golf & Recreation Area is part of the Waskasoo Park System in Red Deer and is connected by asphalt trails to 3 Mile Bend off-leash park, and beyond on the trail system to Bower Ponds, Great Chief Park, and at the end of the trail Heritage Ranch.

Winter  

In winter months the River Bend Golf & Recreation Area is Central Alberta’s premier Nordic Sports Centre, with 15 km of groomed cross-country ski trails, a Biathlon Range, and ample space for snow-shoe enthusiasts as well. They have something for everyone, year-round!
