It is great to have live music and theatre back in our beautiful city of Red Deer. Here are a few shows going on throughout April, so grab your friends or family and support live entertainment.

The Downtown Red Deer Association presents the Ross Street Patio Winter performances happening throughout April, starting with Jaydin Vonkeman on the Ross Street Patio Friday, April 1 from 4:30 pm to 7: 30pm. Then on Thursday, April 07, Jeremy Doody & Dom Benzer will be performing live and the following Thursday, April 14, Stephen Scott & Guests will be back on the Ross Street Patio. To end off the month Kayla Williams will be performing live on April 21 with Jay Bowcott & Syd Zadravec on April 28, a great time to explore the downtown and our local entertainment.

Bo’s Bar and Stage is a wonderful venue with tasty food and live music to suit every taste from Country to Rock n Roll as well as a comedy show, some amazing aerials, and a chance to lose yourself to dance. To start the month, Altameda will be performing on April 1 with guests Ten/02 & Stef Palm and on Saturday, April 2 Piper Creek Optimist Club is entertaining us with a Comedy Night fundraiser for Hockey Alberta. The Forum Inc on Friday, April 8 will be delighting us with their Shades of a Woman show created and designed for women by women, including Aerial Silks, Dance, Live Music, and Poetry. Get back to your country roots Saturday, April 9 with Gone Country for Mammas for mamas and Aaron Pritchett, or perhaps take in the Plants and Animals-Jungle Tour Tuesday, April 12. The Geoffroy—Live Slow Die Wise Your is happening Thursday, April 14 and the Royal Canoe with w/special Guests Zoon are back with their new album on April 15. Listen to some alternative rock with Face the Earth on April 16 and Lose Yourself to Dance with Cherries on Red Friday, April 22. Juno award-winning Hawksley Workman will be entertaining us Sunday, April 24 and to end the month the Cancer Bats + Comeback Kid w/ Misery Signals Thursday, April 28th. Fusing contemporary Irish Dance with magic and grand illusions is what is in store for you with Celtic Illusion Sunday, April 10 at the Peavey Mart Centrium in Westerner Park. There are still tickets available, so check it out by going online or calling the Tickets Alberta Box Office, this is a show not to be missed.

Make sure you check out Social 13 Lounge & Bar for their live music happening every Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Join them for happy hour and stay for the music, the perfect combo.

The Stettler Trade Show is going on from April 08th to the 10th celebrating its 40th anniversary. There will be a weekend of entertainment starting with Will Reeb’s Tribute to Elvis on Friday, April 8. Check out their entertainment schedule and enjoy this full-filled weekend with the family.

Red Hart Brewing is hosting a comedy night Wednesday, April 6 presented by Craft Island Entertainment. Their headliner standup comedian Jason Allen alongside Katie Westman will be entertaining us with a unique brand of humour, a great night with a lot of laughs. Then on Friday, April 15, Thee Primitive Sound will be gracing the Red Hart Brewing stage with their trashy rock n roll combo, everything from 60s garage, surf and punk rock. Tickets and details of these events can be found by going online on Red Hart Brewing events page. Don’t forget to join Ryan Langlois for his An Original Story- Open Mic Wednesday, April 20, sign up is at 6:30 pm, Solo or Duo musicians only, no bands.

Come on down to Sawback Brewery’s taproom for a pint or two and take in some live entertainment this month with local musicians Carl Stretton Saturday, April 9 from 3 pm-6 pm followed by Paeton Cameron Saturday, April 23. If you have been holding onto your old records just waiting to share them, then take in Sawback Breweries Vinyl Night every Thursday from 4 pm -8 pm. This is your chance for their local DJ to entertain everyone with your favourite albums while you enjoy a cold one.
