The Downtown Red Deer Business Association presents the Ross Street Patio performances happening every Thursday from 4:30 to 7:30 pm till the 19 May, with the lineup featuring Rebecca Raabis Family Band May 5, James Adams May 12 followed by Dean Ray May 19. Then starting May 25, the Summer Ross Street Patio performances start every Wednesday from 4:30-6:30 and Thursday and Friday from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm. This is a great chance to get downtown and support our local musicians.
Bo’s Bar and Stage is presenting us with an array of amazing live shows this month starting with Del Barber Monday, May 2, a Canadian independent folk, folk-rock, Americana, and alternative country singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. Dan Mangan’s All Together Now Tour with special guest Georgia Harmer will be hitting the stage Tuesday, May 3 and the CACAC Courage Cup after-party will happen Saturday, May 7 with the Oh Deer Podcast and live music by Matt Blais. It's then the one and only Randy Bachman, “Live & Plugged In” founding member of the original Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive entertaining us Sunday, May 8. The Forum Inc is back on Thursday, May 12 delighting us with their Shades of a Woman show created and designed for women by women, including Aerial Silks, Dance, Live Music, and Poetry. An evening with Devin Cooper is Friday, May 13. Future Islands is on Tuesday, May 17, followed by Yukon Blonde with Jordan Klassen & the Man Who on Thursday, May 19. Then on Friday, May 20 Lagwagon Prairie Provinces Tour will be entertaining the crowds with special guests, Abanin All Hope & Trashed Ambulance, followed by Pail Jacobs one of the most prolific and eccentric artists in town Sunday, May 22. Scenic Route to Alaska with Ten 02 & Young Howler will be back Friday, May 27, and rock ‘n” roll heavyweights The Trews I Wanna Play Tour with W3apons will be ending the weekend on Sunday, May 29 with their electrifying and innovative music. To finish off the month Elliott Brodd a three-piece Folk Rock Alt Country band will be performing Tuesday, May 31 with their brand of fuzzed-up roots music. Make sure you check out Social 13 Lounge & Bar for their live music happening every Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Join them for happy hour and stay for the music, the perfect combo.
Bullskit Comedy is bringing Maestro Improv created by legend Keith Johnstone to the stage on Saturday, May 28 starting at 8:00 pm at the Scott Block theatre. Improvisors of various backgrounds and experiences will entertain the audience in a competition-style show, not to be missed. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by going to Eventbrite.
Riverbend Golf and Recreation Area are hosting their Dinner show this May 5-6, 2022 with the talented Mick & Keith as the Rolling Stones. It will be a fun night of great food and entertainment with tickets available online or by calling 403-343-6341 ext 102.
Red Hart Brewing is hosting a comedy night Wednesday, May 4 presented by Craft Island entertainment. Their headliner Michael Moses has been called one of Canada’s fastest rising stars. Then on Sunday, May 15 a Singer-Songwriter night will be taking the stage as these amazing musicians share their stories and songs, all proceeds going directly to the artists. Come on down to Sawback Brewery’s taproom for a pint or two and take in some live entertainment this month with musicians James Adams Saturday, May 7 from 3pm-6pm followed by Stephen James Saturday, May 21. If you have been holding onto your old records just waiting to share them, then take in Sawback Breweries Vinyl Night every Thursday from 4pm - 8pm. This is your chance for their local DJ to entertain everyone with your favourite albums while you enjoy a cold one.
The Red Deer Arts Council presents First Friday, May 5th, so why not join the galleries downtown Red Deer in celebration of our local, regional, and national artistic talent. Check out their social media sites for Galleries hosting opening receptions where you will get the chance to meet the artist or go on an informal tour.
