Summer Festival Fun
In July, the Westerner Days Fair & Exposition will take over Red Deer. The event showcases Canadian entertainers, over 20 agricultural events, a wide array of fair food and fun midway attractions and rides.
Red Deer’s annual Street Performer’s Festival, Centrefest, will take place July 29 & 30, 2017. The festival features talented performers, like music, food and a free circus school for kids.

Soak up the Sun in Alberta’s Favourite Beach Town
There’s no shortage of fun activities in Sylvan Lake during the summer months. Visitors can walk along the boardwalk and beach, explore the lighthouse and enjoy some great food at restaurants around the city. There are a ton of great mobile food vendors in town for Food Truck Thursdays and buskers at various spots around town. There are also a host of different ways to play on or near the lake. Visitors can rent a paddleboard or boat, race go-karts, play mini-golf or try out the new Aqua Splash water obstacle course right on the lake.
Have Some Fun on the Farm
There are more than 9,100 farms in the Red Deer region and many welcome visitors with family-friendly activities. Kraay Family Farm is one of the region’s most popular agri-tourism attractions. There’s a corn maze, a petting zoo, a giant bouncy cushion, family-friendly activities, food and more.
Step Back in Time
Rocky Mountain House National Historic Site contains artefacts that help visitors understand the lifestyle of the fur trade and trace the steps of early explorers like David Thompson. Stay overnight in a tipi or trapper’s tent or bring a picnic and enjoy it while watching the herd of bison grazing nearby.
