When it comes to local restaurants, Tourism Red Deer has a strong menu of places to eat and enjoy!
One of those places is none other than the "new kid in town", Cilantro and Chive, well not so new to central Alberta but new to the City of Red Deer!
Owner Rieley Kay, has worked in the restaurant industry since his first job washing dishes way back in the day. He and his wife, moved to central Alberta almost 16 years ago as Kim took a job helping get Sunny 94 Radio off the ground when they first opened in Lacombe.
Years later, the 2 now have several businesses and a few fun things on the go, 3 little kids and a whole lot of fun!
Here's a bit more on their history: https://cilantroandchive.ca/blog/2019/12/15/4-years-now-in-lacombe/
As for the present, Cilantro and Chive Red Deer is the second location in central Alberta, the first is in Lacombe!
Rieley and Kim, opened the Red Deer location at one of the toughest times, right in the heart of the pandemic. But with no fears, the team adapted, pivoted like most and made the best of a tough situation. When they opened their doors and patio, the hungry fanbase and visitors made their way to an amazing experience!
Known for their Caesars that eat like a meal, their cotton candy beverages, and their tasty poutine, it's a place you must check out for yourself.
Tourism Red Deer asked Rieley a few questions about their business and what sets them apart from others?
