Cilantro and Chive is a family-owned and operated restaurant that opened its Red Deer location in 2020. They take pride in providing innovative, well-prepared delectable meals and hand-crafted gorgeous cocktails using house-made syrups, fresh fruit, and delicious garnishes. When you dine here, you are also supporting the local farmers, producers, craft breweries, and the great local talent that created the restaurant’s trendy, inviting atmosphere. An Alberta craft beer destination, Cilantro and Chive showcases a massive selection of craft beer from breweries across the province!
What makes you different, unique or stand out?
With over 130 craft beers and ciders, an interesting and tasty menu, and attentive, friendly staff, Cilantro and Chive is not your typical restaurant. And then there is the “Burger of the Month” tradition that was Inspired by a highly creative kindergarten class in Lacombe. Each month a community member is chosen to be a “guest chef” and work with the restaurant’s kitchen team to create their own dream burger. The guest chef also chooses a local charity to receive $2.00 from each burger sold. From “Corky’s Buffalo Burger” or “Throw Another Shrimp on the Kimchi” burger, you just never know what weird but wonderful taste you are going to get!
They treat food like an art form and use an artistic approach to create eye-popping, mouthwatering, unique combinations of classic favourites that look almost too good to eat. Cilantro & Chive strongly believes in supporting local and the menu reflects this. It is easy to detect that the prime-grade meat is ranch-raised, the produce recently harvested, and the coffee freshly roasted.

The restaurant is easily accessible from the Queen Elizabeth Hwy 2, making it a perfect road trip pit stop. Relax with a favourite board game on the patio or sip on a specialty coffee inside. Enjoy fresh delicious food, daily specials, generous servings, and friendly attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the menu. Can’t decide which hand-crafted cocktail to try? Order a flight! Not only can you enjoy a flight of Caesars, mimosas, Moscow mules, craft beer, or “unleaded” cocktails at the restaurant, you can take a do-it-yourself flight kit home.
