Last-Minute Ideas for Valentine's Day | February 2022

Here are some last-minute ideas for Valentine's Day, love is in the air as your sweetie, and you go for a Romancing the Trail Valentine's package hosted by the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame. Rent an electric fat bike for an exhilarating ride exploring the trails, then it's back to the Hall for a little indoor play, the perfect package to reconnect.

Cilantro and Chive is putting together a special Valentine’s menu all weekend long starting at 4:00 pm each day February 11-14, including delicious drink features, Alberta craft beers, and take-home valentine’s mimosa kits. Make sure you book your reservation soon to avoid disappointment and give your love a night to remember.

Downtown Red Deer is kicking off Valentine’s this Friday from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm with live music, free hot chocolate, a themed photo booth, and more. Take your honey to the Ross Street patio and cozy up by one of the fire tables while listening to the music of Simon Donovan & Amanda Mitchell. Afterwards, visit the Locks of Love installation and add a signed lock of your own. The downtown is a wonderful place to go for a walk, do a little shopping, stop for a drink, or enjoy a fabulous lunch or dinner with your sweetheart. You might want to head over to Café Millennium just a block over on 49th street for some decadent valentine treats, or maybe try Cakes and Doe for their Valentine cupcakes, they come in a six-pack so delicious.

Why not head down to Bower Ponds Recreation area for a romantic skate, picnic in the park and some hot chocolate for sale at the Pavilion. It is then back to one of our member's hotels for a little R&R before heading out to dinner or maybe room service you choose.  

Take a drive to some of our communities like Stettler or perhaps Innisfail to explore, check out the shops and try out some of their local eateries. This is the perfect time to make new memories with your loved one and find that hidden gem that will keep you returning again and again.

Give your sweetheart a break and take them out to one of our members' restaurants for a romantic evening out on the town. A little wine, their favourite cocktail and dessert will surely bring a smile to their face.
