Get ready for the magic of the season with an enchanting Christmas Light Tour! AJ Elliot and his father Jim, year after year, carefully select the best routes to showcase the most captivating holiday displays in Red Deer.

2025 Christmas Light Tour

City Hall Park

Take a leisurely walk through City Hall Park and bask in the beauty of a festive array of lights and Christmas decorations. The lights twinkle every night throughout the holiday season, from sunset to sunrise.
When: Every night through the holiday season

Santa Bus Lights

Step outside to your sidewalk or gather with friends in a nearby green space to catch a glimpse of Santa and his elves! Stay tuned for updates on neighbourhood bus routes, and use the MyBus app for live location tracking on tour nights.

A Santa Bus Tour viewing party will take place on December 7th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Red Deer Arts Council. This free family event will feature Christmas cookies, hot chocolate and fun activities while you wait for the Santa Bus's arrival!
When: December 6, 7, 13, and 14, 5:30pm - 8:30pm

Heritage Ranch Winter Night Light Tour

Experience the enchanting Winter Night Lights as you embark on a horse-drawn sleigh ride at Heritage Ranch. Immerse yourself in the invigorating winter breeze, and enjoy a steaming cup of hot chocolate next to a roaring fire. Conclude your magical evening with a delightful dining experience at the Westlake Grill.

Light the Night Attraction at Discovery Wildlife Park

Experience Light the Night at Discovery Wildlife Park in Innisfail, showcasing over 25km of stunning light displays! Take a 20-25 minute drive through the enchanting presentation and wrap up your visit with a stop at the gift shop for a cozy hot beverage. Admission starts at $30 for a carload of up to 8 people. Don't miss this chance to enjoy a magical evening of lights!

Capstone Christmas Lights

Take a stroll through Capstone to see the Christmas lights. The neighbourhood will be beautifully lit throughout the season with festive displays, decorative planters, and more.

CPKC Holiday Train

Get ready for some holiday cheer as the CPKC Holiday Train makes several stops in Central Alberta this year, bringing an unforgettable experience to communities! The brightly lit train will roll into town with festive performances from Magic! and Sofia Camara, spreading joy and creating magical memories for everyone.

Here’s where you can catch the train and experience its holiday magic:

Dec 11 -  Blackfalds, Broadway Avenue & East Avenue, Magic! and Sofia Camara - 1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Dec 11 -  Lacombe, Len Thompson Fish Pond, Magic! and Sofia Camara - 2:15 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.

Dec 13 -  Innisfail, Magic! and Sofia Camara - 12:55 p.m. - 1:25 p.m.
