1. CANYON SKI HILL GLOW TUBING

Canyon Ski Resort has snow tubing! The snow tube park has some of the best views of the Red Deer River Valley and the City of Red Deer! Enjoy this beautiful backdrop as you fly down the 6 groomed runs day or night! Enjoy hot chocolate or cold beer in front of the fire or a warm meal from the upper village kitchen! Glow tubing is on Friday nights from 5:30-7:30 pm.

2. RED DEER SPORTS AND OUTDOOR SHOW

The Red Deer Sports & Outdoor Show is this weekend at Westerner Park. You can browse and buy your products; from hunting and fishing lodge vacations, houseboat rentals, camping, white water rafting, RV's, boats, ATV's, scuba diving, hunting and fishing accessories, taxidermy, outdoor art, and golfing.  

When: Friday, March 3 (4-9 pm) Saturday, March 4 (9 am – 6 pm) Sunday, March 5 (10 am – 4 pm)

Cost: Adults: $15 Age 11-17: $10 Age 10 and under: Free  

3. TROOPER & CHILLIWACK

Canadian classic rock legends Trooper and Chilliwack are certain to be here for a good time when they take the stage Friday, March 3rd, 2023, at the Peavey Mart Centrium.

4. IT’S ALMOST SPRING CRAFT SHOW AND MARKET

It's Almost Spring Craft Show and Market will be on Saturday, March 4 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Baymont Inn. The show is full of amazing and unique vendors ready to showcase, and its free admission and free parking.

When: Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

5. BULL SKIT COMEDY SHOW

Bull Skit Comedy and the Dirrty show have been doing comedy together for the past 8 years. Now to celebrate each other and of course International Women’s Day, they bring the best of the best sketches they have created together to hit the stage once more. The big lip energy show will feature all things feminine.  

When: Friday, March 3, 2023 and Saturday, March 4, 2023

6. RED DEER SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PRESENTS BREAK THE BIAS

In a special celebration of International Women's Day, Red Deer Symphony Orchestra is featuring some of the inspiring women that have made their mark on the Classical music scene. Be inspired by award-winning Canadian composer Jocelyn Morlock's "Solace," and "Suite for Strings" by British composer, suffragette, and general difference-maker Ethel Smyth. RDSO will also be joined by one of Red Deer’s own talented young women in a performance of a virtuosic masterpiece.

7. GASOLINE ALLEY FARMERS MARKET

Gasoline Alley Farmers’ Market is a vibrant indoor market open year-round in Red Deer County that celebrates local producers, artisans, and farmers from Alberta. They are open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, they welcome you to meet local bakers, makers, growers, brewers, and crafters.

When: Fridays and Saturdays 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, and Sundays, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.

8. RED DEER PUBLIC LIBRARY PRESENTS: THE PEOPLE IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD  

Each month the Red Deer Public Library hosts a special storytime for all ages as they welcome a special guest from the Red Deer community. Enjoy stories and crafts, and learn about what our guests do in our wonderful city! This month's special guest is Dieulita Datus Hall with UBUNTU – Mobilizing Central Alberta!  

When: Saturday, March 4 (11:00 am-12:00 pm)

9. SEASON OF THE SAP AT KERRY WOOD NATURE CENTRE  

As the days get longer and warmer, we aren't the only ones getting ready for spring. The trees that have spent the winter dormant are preparing everything needed for the flowers and fruits that we look forward to all winter. Along the 1km trail listen and learn to the heart beat of the forest as it prepares for summer. End the walk by making fresh maple candy to celebrate such a sweet day.

When: Saturday, March 4 (1:00 -2:30 pm)  
Where: Kerry Wood Nature Centre
Cost: $5+GST/family. Pre-registration is required.

10. BOWER PONDS SKATING

The weather looks good for the weekend so get out and experience some fun winter activities Red Deer has to offer. Head to Bower Ponds to go tobogganing down the hill or try out skating. Warm up with hot chocolate in the pavilion. The hours for the rentals and café are Monday -Friday 4:30-9:00 pm. Saturday and Sunday 11:00 am - 9:00 pm.
