1. CANYON SKI HILL

The Snow Tube Park at Canyon Ski Resort is so much fun. The park is located at the top of the hill complete with 6 groomed lanes and you can book your tickets online.

2. PARKLAND GARDEN CENTRE ICE SCULPTURES

Bring the family and go and see Parkland Garden Centre’s Ice Sculptures. This year’s theme is 'The Grinch & Christmas' carved in the ice.

When: Open during store hours
Where: Parkland is located 3 minutes East of 30th Avenue, Red Deer on Highway 11 East.
Cost: FREE

3. BOWER PONDS SKATING

It’s going to be a beautiful weekend, so why not pull out the skates and go down to Bower Ponds. Bower Ponds has long been one of the most popular and scenic skating locations in the area and they also have skate rentals.

4. LIVE MUSIC AT BO’S BAR AND STAGE

Enjoy a concert from El Niven and Alibi with the Bitter Rivals. The doors open at 6:00 pm and the show starts at 9:00 pm.

5. WINTERSPORTS IN LACOMBE EXHIBIT OPENING THIS WEEKEND

Join Lacombe Museum’s for their first full day opening the new exhibit. From January 13th to April 15th, the Flatiron Building Museum will be hosting the brand new "Winter Sports in Lacombe" exhibit, featuring the history of winter sports in the Lacombe region. Get ready for an exciting winter adventure at the Lacombe Museum.

When: Opening is Friday, January 13, 2023 until April 15, 2023

Cost: FREE, but donations are greatly appreciated

6. LIVE MUSIC AT RED HART BREWING

Enjoy a concert at Red Hart Brewing from Richard Inman & Ellen Froese. Richard Inman is quickly becoming a staple of Canada’s folk and country scene and Saskatchewan's Ellen Froese is making a triumphant return to Red Hart.

7. LIGHT THE NIGHT ATTRACTION AT DISCOVERY WILDLIFE PARK

It’s the last weekend to see the Light the Night attraction at Discovery Wildlife Park in Innisfail. They have more than 25km of light displays! The display is estimated to be a 20-25 min drive. At the end of the display, you can stop in at the gift shop for a hot beverage.

When: Every night until January 15, 2023

Cost: $30 plus GST per vehicle

8. RED DEER REBELS GAME

Cheer on the Red Deer Rebels as they play the Edmonton Oil Kings. The game starts at 7:00 pm at the Peavey Mart Centrium.

9. RV MANIA AT WESTERNERPARK

RV Mania returns to Westerner Park this weekend. RV Mania is the ultimate exhibition of world-class RVs.

Cost: FREE, rentals are an additional fee


10. GASOLINE ALLEY FARMERS MARKET

Gasoline Alley Farmers’ Market is a vibrantindoor market open year-round in Red Deer County that celebrates localproducers, artisans and farmers from Alberta. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

When: Fri, Jan. 6 and Sat, Jan. 7 (9:00 am– 5:00 pm) and Sun, Jan. 8 (10:00 am – 4:00 pm)
