The Red Deer Winter Carnival is this weekend at Bower Ponds. Join ACFA of Red Deer to celebrate French-Canadian traditions on Friday, February 24, and Saturday, February 25. This event includes live music, dance, and traditional foods like pea soup, sugar pie, maple taffy, and more. UPDATE: Due to the extreme cold weather, ACFA Régionale de Red Deer is cancelling the Winter Carnival event on Friday, February 24. The event will proceed as scheduled for Saturday, February 25, 2023

Canyon Ski Resort is located just 10 minutes east of the city and is the largest non-mountain downhill ski resort in Alberta. The 28.6 hectare ski area has 20 runs, six lifts, lights for night skiing, a ski lodge, a large ski school, and equipment rentals. They also have a snow tube park at Canyon Ski Resort.
