Come on down to Westerner Park November 10 - 12 for Agri-Trade, one of Canada's premier indoor/outdoor agricultural events featuring the very best in Agriculture equipment, technology, services, and products. Expand your horizons at The Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery as they present their World War Women exhibit featuring the contributions made to Canada's participation in the First and Second World wars. Their galleries are open 10 am - 4:30 pm and are free to visit however donations are greatly appreciated.
Take a walk at the Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary behind the Kerry Wood Nature Centre. Since 1924, the Gaetz Lakes have been protected as a federal migratory bird sanctuary. Now part of Waskasoo Park, the Sanctuary's 118 hectares (almost 300 acres) are set aside as a home for plants, mammals, birds, and other wildlife. Five kilometres of trails, a bird blind, and viewing decks introduce you to various habitats.
The Alberta Sports Hall of Fame pays homage to some of Alberta's most significant sports heroes. They also have a multitude of interactives, from their multisport area to their Treadwall climbing wall, just a few of the many family-friendly things to do.
Visit the Gasoline Alley Indoor Farmer's Market, open Friday through Sunday for some fantastic high-quality local products or perhaps check out their Market Kitchen opened Thursday as well. You can grab lunch at some of their local restaurants like Taco Monster or maybe sample some of the local craft beer from Craft Beer Commonwealth or Troubled Monk.
Marvel at the larger-than-life murals in Downtown Red Deer located in the alleyways surrounding our historical Ross Street. There are a variety of excellent shops and cafes for you to discover, and if you have the time, our City of Red Deer's Heritage Walking Tours might be fun.
