It’s New Year's Eve and although we are unable to celebrate in the fashion we were hoping for, there are still a few ways we can bring in 2022 with a bang.
The Snow Tube Park at Canyon Ski Resort is so much fun, book your time on New Year’s Eve then it’s back home for dinner and a movie, the perfect evening.
Bring along a picnic (if it's warm enough) and go skating at Bower Ponds, with their pretty lights and lovely scenery. If you don’t own any skates that’s okay as they have rentals, a selection of skating supplies and you can get your skates sharpened there as well.
Why not go for dinner at one of our Member's restaurants, then it is off for a Winter Lights Tour at Heritage Ranch, horses included.
Sylvan Lake Winter Village is the perfect place to be on New Year's Eve, where you can go skating with music or warm up by the many bonfires lit by the Town of Sylvan Lake as you enjoy a mug of hot chocolate and reflect on the year gone past. Don't forget on New Year's Day there is a spectacular fireworks show starting at 7:00 pm. Guests are encouraged to watch from Sylvan Lake Park, anywhere along the shoreline.
Snowshoeing with a loved one is so romantic and both Kerry Wood Nature Centre and Alberta Sports Hall of Fame have rentals if you don’t have your own.
Central Alberta is a glow with beautiful light displays in and around Red Deer. It is an excellent time for your family and you to take in the various Holiday Light Tours to celebrate the New Year.
Art in the Garden Christmas Market is happening at Parkland Garden Centre. Take in the beauty of Parkland Garden Centre annual ice sculptures and see the magic of the holidays come to life. The best time for viewing the sculptures is at night when they are lit up with an array of different coloured lights. The sculptures are free to visit, and Parkland Garden Centre will be accepting donations to the food bank. Open New Year's Eve until 11 pm.
