Sylvan Lake Paddleboarding
With its picturesque scenery and shallow shoreline, Sylvan Lake is a great place to spend some time. Glide along early in the morning, before the beach fills up, when the lake is quiet and inhabited by wildlife and other fun seekers. It is so peaceful listening to paddles hit the water and birds chirping along the shoreline, taking in the breathtaking scenery around the lake. The best time to paddle is first thing in the morning before 9am or after supper to avoid the crowds and have a chance at spotting some wildlife.
Lake Access
Lakefront Park is a great spot to shove off from the small beach access in the area. Drive right up close to the water to unload and park right beside the beach. Lakefront Park is by the lighthouse at Lakeshore Drive and 51 Street.
Safety Tips:
Stay close to the shoreline, wind can come up quickly and conditions can become unsafe out in the middle of the lake. Wear a lifejacket and tell a friend when you're leaving and when you expect to be back. If you don't come back on time, they will know to call for help.
