1. GASOLINE ALLEY FARMERS MARKET

Gasoline Alley Farmers' Market is an indoor marketplace situated in Red Deer County, that offers a vibrant shopping experience. This year-round market highlights local farmers, producers, and artisans and is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

2. CAPSTONE CRUISE  

Join us in Capstone for free monthly bike cruises across Red Deer's Waskasoo Park trail system. All are welcome, whatever your skill level - fun comes first! All you need is your bike gear and water bottle (helmets are required if under 18). The bike cruise will be approximately 1.5 hours in length, with post-ride thirst quenching at Troubled Monk immediately following.

3. MOTHER’S DAY CRAFT SHOW AND MARKET

4. LIVE MUSIC AT THE MEMORIAL CENTRE

Enjoy two spectacular tributes to Elton John and Billy Joel on Friday, May 5th, 2023 with The Rocket Man and opening act The Piano Man! Don't miss these two visually and musically captivating stage productions featuring a full live band, multi-media, colourful costumes and dancers!

5. FIRST FRIDAY RED DEER: REMARKABLE RED DEER

Join the Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery as part of #FirstFridaysRedDeer where they will unveil new additions to the collection including the taxidermized Buffalo head from the Buffalo Hotel and Curtis Labelle’s performance costume and memorabilia. Check out these treasures from the collection to celebrate their 50th anniversary!

6. RED DEER TRAILS  

It's going to be a beautiful weekend, why not explore the outdoors. The Red Deer trail system is well known as one of the best in Alberta. With over 110 km of easily accessible, paved, hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian trails that connect park users to beautiful green areas and park attractions. 7. GASOLINE ALLEY HARLEY-DAVIDSON – INTERNATIONAL FEMALE RIDE DAY

Join the folks from Gasoline Alley Harley-Davidson for their International Female Ride Day. Meet and greet is at 11 am with a 12 pm BBQ burger lunch! The ride leaves for the Monkey Top in Bentley at 2 pm. Lunch proceeds go to Courageous Companions and Fostering Hope Animal Rescue.

8. BULL SKIT COMEDY SHOWS

Bull Ski Comedy presents the Original Sketch Show this weekend. For the past 15 years Bull Skit Comedy has been delivering Sketch, Improv, and featuring musicians from all over Alberta. They have created a brand-new sketch show each and every month for 10 years, now they will pay homage to that show! They are bringing old favourites, new sketches, a musician each night, and of course Improv.  

When: Friday, May 5 2023, at 8 pm and Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 8 pm.

9. VISIT KERRY WOOD NATURE CENTRE

Located in The City of Red Deer, on the south bank of the Red Deer River the Kerry Wood Nature Centre is Central Alberta’s year-round destination for environmental education. Visit the Nature Centre for hands-on natural history interpretation, interactive exhibits, unique books or gift ideas, and so much more. The Nature Centre is the hub of Red Deer’s Waskasoo Park Trail System; a starting point for anyone looking to delve into their natural surroundings and local wild spaces.

10. ALBERTA SPORTS HALL OF FAME

Hurry on down to the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame. Interactive games, sports memorabilia, and all of the sport-related fun await you at this renowned facility!  This year they are also introducing e-scooters, e-bikes, and electric Fat bikes for rent, a great time to explore the wonderful trails located behind the building.
