The Music Scene in Red Deer

With the announcement of indoor singing, limited band practice, and wind instrument concerts allowed again in Alberta; we would like to share with you what’s happening in the music scene this September as we Explore Red Deer’s Backyard.

The Ross Street Patio is an amazing venue. On Friday evening, September 18, starting at 7:00 pm, Save Our Stage Music Originals Open Mic will be entertaining us with original music from our local artists; make sure you come on down. The Ross Street Patio will also be hosting Memphis Mafia with Jaydin Vonkeman on Saturday, September 19, at 7:00 pm, and then on September 26, Jeremy & Paeton with Ryan Carnduff.

If you love Jazz, then the One Eleven Grill is the place to be, with live music every Friday and Saturday night from 6:30 pm-10:30 pm. This weekend, September 18 & 19, Shewchuk McCargar Gabriel Group will be playing, so don’t forget to make your reservations as space is limited.

Head on over to Sylvan Lake as Vesta Energy and the Town of Sylvan lake presents Gord Bamford a Drive-In Concert for Mental health Saturday, September 19, 7:00 pm-8:00 pm. You can purchase your tickets online by going to gordbamford.com, general admission tickets are $75.00 per car, and there are no refunds

Have you been down to Bo’s Bar and Stage lately? September 22 is a great time to visit as they present Red Alert—Save Canadian Stages Wednesday, September 22, starting at 6:00 pm. There will be live music, some surprises in store, and please dress in red to show your support. Donations are encouraged to help our performing artists, and as this is a seated event, table reservations are recommended.

Join Trashed Ambulance and Country 23 at the Fox and Hound in Innisfail for a Patio Punk Show Friday, September 25, 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Admission is free, but seating is limited, so make sure you get there early.
