1. Tell us about your company?
Our company is a family-run private operation aiming to give Red Deer a new spin on bar/lounge feel. We really want our customers to feel as though they are in their living room when they walk in our doors. Our management is well connected in the community, so supporting local is very important as well. When you come to Social 13 Lounge & Bar, you can guarantee all our beers on tap are local. Although we are a lounge and beverage is the name of the game, food is also very important to us. Having dishes that are shareable and tasty is what we believe makes people #GETSOCIAL! The number 13 have been a lucky number of the owners for quite some time, and it runs deep within the company brand.
2. What makes you different, unique, or stand out?
We believe we are unique because there aren’t many lounges in central Alberta that offer a very intimate and welcoming room that makes you feel like you are at home. We believe a customer is more than a number. Knowing customers by name and offering them the ‘feel good’ service is what sets Social 13 apart from others.
3. Why do you do what you do?
We do what we do because, over the last few years, a lot of people have lost touch with what it means to be social. Whether that’s going over to grandma’s, or catching a beer with a sibling, the lack of social interaction has run deep over the last while. Social 13 wants to bring people together and make them feel appreciated and welcome.
4. What can guests (local or visiting) expect to experience?
Customers can expect to receive a great ‘return on experience’ meaning, that coming out the door and sitting down at one of our tables will give returns beyond expectations – something to go home and talk to relatives about. Again, we want people to feel like they’re sitting outside on their house patio having drinks when they’re at Social 13.
5. What is new or upcoming?
Social 13 is continuing to build our brand awareness. One thing you can expect is some awesome nightlife entertainment in the future that caters to multiple age groups. Our wing night has grown in popularity over the course of the last 6 months, and we encourage fellow Red Deerians to come and try us out on Wednesdays, you won’t be disappointed. Finally, we will continue to provide our customers with that ‘sit on the living room couch’ experience.
