Whether you redeemed your Highway 2 More! Attractions Pass points, won a giveaway, or received these as a gift from Tourism Red Deer, we wanted to make sure you knew the story behind what you’re wearing. The design on your socks was created by Ryan Willert, an exceptional Blackfoot artist and muralist living in Red Deer, Alberta. We are honoured to feature his work.

Although he was raised in a non-Indigenous community, he has since reconnected with his Blackfoot roots (Siksika Nation) carrying many titles. Ryan learned the art of black ink drawing and sales from his father Richard (Dicky) Stimson, another artist from the Siksika Nation, and continues to grow as a traditional Blackfoot artist.
