Red Deer Arts Council operates the Kiwanis Gallery at the Red Deer Public Library as a partnership. The Gallery is open the same hours as the Library except for the evening of the First Friday of the month when the arts council hosts an opening for the exhibition presented there. The space is in the lower level of the Library and is adjacent to the Snell Auditorium which is where the openings are held. We also showcase local performers and writers at alternate First Friday openings.
The Kiwanis Gallery, operated by the Red Deer Arts Council, offers 53 linear feet of wall space and hosts exhibitions that include visual artists from around the province working in all media and subject matter, from landscapes to abstracts and includes both 2D and 3D work. They host two school exhibits; one from five Middle Schools; the other is two High Schools dealing with advanced placement and International Baccalaureate Students. There is a yearly Visual Arts Members Juried Exhibition to help promote and raise the profile of the Red Deer Arts Council.
Kiwanis Gallery exhibits are listed on Red Deer Art Council’s website as well as the First Friday Red Deer Gallery openings for the galleries in Red Deer.
We welcome artist and curator submissions to the gallery on a two-year rotation. Check the website for the next call for submissions.
