Located in Lacombe County, Ellis Bird Farm is both a working farm as well as a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of Mountain Bluebirds, Tree Swallows and other native cavity-nesting birds. Drop-in visitors and tour groups are welcome at Ellis Bird Farm during the summer months, when we are open to the public. Enjoy the beautiful gardens, see the world’s largest outdoor collection of bluebird nest boxes, take a tour out to our bluebird trail, visit the Visitor Centre and linger in the Ellis Café.

The Ellis Café is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a delicious lunch or afternoon tea. Food in the Ellis Café is made with fresh and locally sourced ingredients.

Please be advised that Tourism Red Deer's offices are now closed to the public, effective immediately given the rapidly-evolving situation with Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

This decision will impact visitors to our building, the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and also affect access to the rest stop and public washrooms adjacent to our offices.

We do not make this decision lightly and do so with the health and safetly of our staff and visitors in mind. The closure will remain in place until further notice.

Currently, our team will continue regular work on-site and will be available to answer questions via phone or e-mail during regular office hours.
