What could be better than a holiday designated to celebrate the family, a time to forget about the pressures of life, and indulge in a little fun with your kin.
Red Deer has a multitude of activities to keep you entertained, from snowshoeing or cross country skiing down at Heritage Ranch to getting together for ice skating at Bower Ponds — remember they also provide skate rentals if your family is from out of town.
Kerry Wood Nature Centre is having their family day celebrations, with some fun outdoor activity, a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, snowshoeing, games, activities, and much more, so make sure your family checks it out.
If you are looking for a little indoor fun then head down to the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame & Museum for their family day celebrations, crafts, interactive games, hot chocolate and the best part kids get in free.
Also the Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery has their Family Day Celebration of the Métis. Learn to jig, be entertained with traditional Stories & Songs of the Stars or try some family-friendly crafts.
The entertainment at The Gary W. Harris Celebration Plaza is another fun place to take your family. They have BoBs & LoLo to entertain the kids, afterwards grab a lawn chair and take in the family friendly movie Smallfoot, with fireworks to follow.
Blackfalds is also celebrating by having their Winterfest at The Abbey Centre, a fun filled family day and for those who are not afraid of an icy plunge there is the Penguin Dip, BRRR! If you’re in Sylvan Lake their Winterfest will still be going on as well, so make sure you make some time for all the family fun activities.
These are just a few of the great activities your family and you can do, so let’s engage, have fun and make this a Family Day to remember.
