Dickson Store Museum and Danish Canadian Museum will be holding the Julestue (Scandinavian Bazaar) and Danish Restaurant at the Spruce View Hall on November 2, 2019 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Vendors selling their wares. Lunch service of Danish open-face sandwiches and desserts begins at 11:00 am. Admission 2.00 includes coffee and juice and a chance to win a door prize. Also featured are æbleskiver making demonstrations and tastings.

Christmas is just around the corner and it’s time to get your Christmas baking and start your shopping! Historic Markerville can help November 8 – 10 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm with thousands of homemade cookies to fill your box. There will also be local vendors with handcrafted gifts, a Christmas quilt display in the church and of course the creamery cafe.
Come enjoy a day of shopping from a variety of the best artisan vendors Alberta has to offer. Held at the elegant Cambridge Hotel on November 9 from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm. This year featuring special “First Look Shopping Hour” from 11:00 am – noon for $5, limited to 200 shoppers. Be the first to see what these amazing vendors have to offer in a less crowded atmosphere. Regular admission is $4.00.
November 15 – 16
Join us for a unique holiday shopping experience this November by exploring the arts and crafts of some of our area’s premier artists and craftspeople that have set up their displays throughout the MAG’s Rare and Remarkable Red Deer exhibit and other gallery spaces. Over 15 artists will be in attendance with artwork ranging from pottery, silver jewelry, glass, textiles, oil, acrylic and watercolour painting, Raku, fine functional woodwork, mixed media and more.
*Valid MAG members & invited guests are invited to preview the Market on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 5:00 pm – 9:00pm in a gala evening atmosphere. Then on Saturday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm the market is open to the public. The Artisan Market is held in conjunction with similar seasonal arts and crafts events hosted by the City of Red Deer Recreation Centre, the Norwegian Laft Hus and the Golden Circle. The public will be able to park for free in the Recreation Centre/MAG parking lot and stroll from venue to venue.

Come down to the Norwegian Laft Hus on Saturday, November 16 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm and Sunday, November 17 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Stock up on some beautiful Norwegian crafts and gift items, cooking equipment, non-perishables Norwegian food and Norwegian baking items. All crafts and baked goods are made by volunteers of the Laft Hus and all proceeds will go to the Norwegian Laft Hus society.

Saturday & Sunday, November 16 & 17, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm a wonderful way to start off the holiday season. Shop and browse here at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre for that little something special! Come and enjoy the warm atmosphere while you take advantage of the many goods sold by our vendors. Free admission. Drop in. Door prize draws every hour starting at 11:00 am.

Christmas is on its way and what better way to get in the spirit is to come on down to the Westerner from November 22 – 24 for the Festival of Trees. Whether you’re looking for activities for the entire family or something fun to do with that someone special, Festival of Trees is Red Deer’s premier Christmas community fundraiser, kicking off the Christmas season! From Candy Cane Lane, to Mistletoe Magic, Breakfast with Santa or Festival of the Wines. These are some of the events happening, so make sure you check out the website, book early for some of the special events and have a very Merry Festival of Trees.
We are so excited to bring you the Let Them Be Little Market back for our Christmas Edition at the Baymont Inn and Suites Saturday, November 23 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Swag bags will be handed out at 10:00 am and 1:30 pm. These are seriously amazing swag bags so don’t miss out. You will have an opportunity to win multiple prizes with our shop to win contest.
Come in out of the cold and shop with the best of the Artisans in Central and Southern Alberta at the Light Up Blackfalds Christmas Market happening Saturday, November 23 from 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm, at the Blackfalds Community Centre. The All Things Pretty Market brings you our Christmas Edition on Friday, November 29 for their Christmas Soiree & Market from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm and Christmas Market Saturday, November 30 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, at the New Life Fellowship Church Red Deer. Handcrafters, Designers, Jewelers, Curators, Sewists, Growers and more all together in one place for you to shop and experience the most unique event in Central Alberta. Tickets for the Christmas Soiree & Market are $10 and sold in advance online. For the Christmas market on Saturday, admission is $3.00 at the door.
Westerner Park invites the community to come together at the Christmas Artisan Market on Saturday, November 30 from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm. The one-day shopping experience, taking place in Westerner Park’s Harvest Centre, is tailored towards families who value quality time and our local makers and vendors! Guests can complete some of their holiday shopping on a local level, and enjoy seasonal activities like snow painting, writing letters to Santa, and sipping hot coco beside our outdoor fire pit! This year, we are excited to introduce Stuff The Truck! Each season, Westerner Park helps give back to the community by raising donations for the Red Deer & District Food Bank at the Christmas Artisan Market. When guests arrive to the 2019 festivities, they will be greeted by our Westerner Park truck, where they can place their Food Bank donation. We have one simple goal: stuff the truck with goods to help make a local family’s Christmas a little brighter!
