Treating clients to a round of golf is a terrific way to get to know each other better. You’ll have plenty of time to talk between shots, you can strut your skills – or show how calm you are under pressure – and hopefully everyone has a fun day in the beautiful outdoors. Here are three places to host your next golf cart meeting in Red Deer.
Cool bragging rights in Lacombe
The Nursery Golf & Country Club in Lacombe is a huge rolling 18-hole course, sculpted around a 75-year-old tree nursery – which explains all the trees. You’ll need to take on 41,000 trees, challenging water hazards, tight doglegs and Canada’s longest hole – the par 6 eleventh at 782 yards. The club has a sunny licensed patio where you can seal the deal over well-deserved refreshments.
Lakeside at Sylvan
Top o’ the Hill Golf is an executive nine-hole course with incredible views of Sylvan Lake. This course is a great option for a short round if your schedule is tight – you can play the whole course in under two hours. Watch for the sloping fifth hole – it’s the toughest and most scenic on the property. And since you’ll likely still have time to talk after, head to the sunny clubhouse deck for homemade sandwiches or a quick coffee overlooking the lake.
A Central Alberta must-play
Just five minutes west of the city along Hwy 11, Alberta Springs Golf Resort is a flawlessly manicured must-play course with big trees, sparkling fountains and power carts equipped with GPS. Watch for long rolling fairways, lots of water and treacherous sand traps on this 18-hole public course. You can start your day on the aquatic practice range and end it over shop-talk and great food on the beautiful licensed patio. You can also host tournaments, staff meetings and training seminars here in the resort’s meeting facilities.
