Wagons at Westerner: 

The Alberta Professional Chuckwagon & Chariot Association Twist the 8 Tour will be taking place this weekend at The Westerner Park. There will also be local live entertainment, beer gardens, food trucks and a spectacular Fireworks show (weather permitting). There will be 38 Chuckwagons competing over the next three days with chariot racing happening before the wagons. Tickets will be available at the gate; however, they are limited so purchasing in advance is highly recommended and you can do this by going to TICKETSALBERTA 


Lacombe Days: 

Starting Friday the 23rd, you can experience scavenger hunts, community markets, tours, music, fireworks and so much more.  Click on the link to see their website for details and enjoy this family-friendly festival. 


“She Was” Poetry Reading and Wine: 

Heritage Ranch is hosting an afternoon on July 23 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm with author Sabrina Samuel who will be presenting inspiring poems of women. Springbrook Drive-In Movie night: 

Springbrook Community association along with the Red Deer Regional Airport is hosting a summer outdoor movie that is out of this world E.T Friday, July 23.  The parking lot will open at 8:00 pm with Golden Mini Donuts food truck onsite. Tickets are $25 per vehicle and are available by going to Eventbrite. 


A Prairie Vernacular: 

The Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery are hosting Linda Shantz Artists-in-Residence at Heritage Square all week part of the exhibit programming for “A Prairie Vernacular: Folk & Contemporary Art Narratives of Life on the Canadian Prairie. Saturday is her last day so make sure you drop by between 1:00 pm-4:00 pm and watch as she whittles wood folk-like houses, faces or animals.


Don’t Call it a Comeback Fest: 

The Road the Stage presents, “Don’t Call It A Comeback Fest” happening at Bo’s Bar and Stage Friday and Saturday night, 20 local acts and a whole lot of great music. Tickets are still available through Eventbrite so don’t miss out on this entertaining good time. 


Saskatoon Days: 

DNA Gardens is celebrating all things Saskatoon, this Saturday & Sunday with U-Pick Saskatoon Berries. There will be wagon rides, a petting zoo, wine tastings where you get to meet the vintners and a special appearance from Jill Brodie herding runner ducks with her sheepdogs. $20.00 a car.  Pay at the farm gate or reserve a spot now! 


The Garden of Fashion: 

The Garden of Fashion at The Danish Canadian Museum is making its debut this weekend July 23 to 26th. This weekend their grounds will become a tour of the fashion set in the 1920s. The event will include an interactive tour (with the option to walk as many times as you like unguided with an audio guide) Tea party with sandwiches, delicate tea cakes and treats, teas, and beverage options, spa options, floral arranging, quilt show, Photo options. We encourage everyone to dress up in the 1920’s Garden party theme and get out and enjoy themselves. 

The Norwegian Laft Hus Society and Museum

It is Arts and Crafts Day at the Norwegian laft Hus this Saturday  from 12:00pm till 4:00pm. If you want to learn some rosemaling(rose painting), make a nisse (gnome) or how to weave paper in traditional styles, this is the place to come. The cost is free while supplies last, but donations are welcome.
