The Cronquist House is having their Annual Victorian Christmas Dinner this Friday, a 5-course meal in the Victoria Age traditions. Seating is limited, so make sure you call ahead to see if there is availability.
Trails lit up with Christmas lights, a roaring outdoor fire, hot beverages and treats, that’s what is in store if you come down to Jule Nights at The Danish Canadian Museum in Spruce View Wednesday to Saturday night from Noon to 9:00 pm. Due to COVID rules, you must book ahead to walk the trails, see the lights, shop in their store and sit in the café.
Santa is coming to Red Deer this Saturday, December 5, between 5:00 pm – 8:30 pm via the Santec Santa Bus. Children of all ages are invited to watch from their windows or in front of their homes as Santa is driven through various neighbourhoods. Here is the link to the Stantec Santa Bus Route Map, but don’t worry if he isn’t in your community this weekend; he will be coming back again next Saturday. Don’t forget to snap a picture of the bus as it drives by and tag The City on social media for a chance to win a one month Red Deer Transit pass.

In conjunction with Red Deer Lights the Night, the Children’s Festival is providing craft bags to Red Deer families (while supplies last) Saturday, December 5, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. A drive-thru pick up station will be set up at the Red Deer Public School Board parking lot, 4747 53 Street. One bag per child while supplies last. Due to AHS COVID-19 Standards, please remain in your vehicle to receive your kit and enjoy your home activities.
The Blue Grass Christmas Market is going on this Sunday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. They have some amazing local vendors and artisans setting up shops that you will not want to miss.
Why not head downtown this weekend to check out the Storefront Outdoor Art Gallery and Scavenger Hunt happening till December 14. Artist’s paintings, glass and ceramic works, available for purchase, will be displayed in storefront windows; the scavenger hunt maps are available to be printed from the Red Deer Arts Councils website. Hard copies of the map can also be picked up at the Downtown Business Association, Housewarmings and VinLDen.
Sylvan Lake is all aglow with their Twinkle Tours self-guided walking or driving tours of the beautiful light displays popping up all over town. Use the online map to create your tour route and check back often as there are always adding new displays.
