Instead of gathering in City Hall Park, we invite Red Deerians to help light up the night by turning on your home and business Christmas lights in unison Saturday, November 21 at 5:00 pm. You can enjoy the annual illumination of City Hall Park and their Christmas Holiday tree’s lighting by watching their Red Deer Lights the Night Broadcast. This video showcases the lights and decorations in City Hall, shared online (YouTube, webpage and the City’s social media channels). Red Deer Arts Council is excited to announce their First Winter Concert Series Event on the Ross Street Patio this Saturday, November 21, from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm. Come out & enjoy the musical styling of Paeton Cameron while enjoying a meal & drinks at one of the restaurants with patio space, or you can sit in the public zone and stay warm. While downtown also checkout the Lights the Night Glass Front Gallery’s , they have lit up all the art for your enjoyment.
We still have one more week to view The Festival of Trees online and place your bids in the Silent Auction. It’s for a great cause. The money raised this year will be used to support the transition to an electronic system of fetal monitoring (EMF) for the labour and delivery unit at the Red Deer Hospital and other rural healthcare centres in the Central Zone.
The town of Penhold has its Drive-in Style Christmas Tree Light Up at the Multiplex this Friday, November 20. Join them outside in the parking lot from the safety of your vehicle as the Christmas tree lighting will take place on the Multiplex Balcony at 7:00 pm. They will be accepting food bank and Christmas Bureau donations as you enter the parking lot, which will open at 6:30 pm.
The Red Deer Christmas Wish Breakfast is happening this Sunday at the Westerner parking lot from 8:00 am till 2:00 pm. Kick-off your Christmas Season by bringing a new unwrapped toy and be treated to our takeaway drive-thru pancake breakfast. To ensure that you aren’t waiting, they have set up registration in one-hour increments with Eventbrite.
