Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is a global movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Black Friday. It is a time when charities, companies and individuals get together and rally for their favourite causes. In the same way that retailers take part in Black Friday, the giving community comes together for Giving Tuesday. Here in Red Deer, we can help by turning to some of our local charities like The Mustard Seed or  Volunteering Central for different opportunities to assist in our community. The Family Services of Central Alberta collects donations this year for Gifts for Grandparents or maybe put together a collection of unwrapped toys for the Red Deer Christmas Bureau.

Another great way of giving and to support the local businesses is by purchasing gift certificates for an experience like a Winter Night Light Sleigh Ride at Heritage Ranch,  or perhaps a family pass to the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, or Snow Tubing At Canyon Ski Hill. You can then donate it to the charity of your choice; this way, a family can experience some of the wonderful things we have here in Red Deer. These are just a few ways to give back and let our community know that we care, so let us contribute to the most giving of days, Giving Tuesday.
