Central Alberta Film Festival Winner Envelopes

The Central Alberta Film Festival is on at Festival Hall, celebrating the art of Canadian Cinema. Start your Friday by viewing a selection of short and full-length films. There are also family-friendly screenings Saturday, October 17, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm, if you want to bring the kids. Their Awards and Celebrity Red Carpet Gala is also happening Saturday evening, a Black-Tie event with an “Oscars” Theme, a great way to end the Festival. Please remember, this is a socially distanced event so book your tickets ahead online to avoid missing out.

Getting ready for Halloween and need that perfect pumpkin? Then round up the family for a Private Flashlight Pumpkin Hunt at Heritage Ranch. You will be given a private group tractor wagon ride down to a secret location, where everyone will have 15 minutes to find their pumpkin in the dark, so don’t forget your flashlights! Hot chocolate will be provided to help fight off the evening chill. For those wanting to make it a night-out have the option of adding on dinner at the West Lake Grill, with your choice of a Beef or Elk Burger, kid’s options also available. Private group bookings only, with a maximum of 20 guests.

Pumpkins and Scarecrows out at Kraay Family Farm

10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Bring in your good condition yet unwanted items and browse for something you may need. Please only bring gently used household items, no toiletries, or large pieces of furniture. Health protocols and social distancing measures will be in place. Kerry Wood will donate leftover items to local charities. Free to attend.

Check out Glow Nights at the Kraay Family Farm this Friday and Saturday night. Bring your own glow in the dark wares or purchase some from the CORNer store. Help them celebrate their last weekend of the season and light up the Corn Maze! Book ahead online.

If you haven’t experienced One Eleven Grill and their incredible live music yet, be sure to add them to your plans this weekend. Randi Boulton will be performing Friday and Saturday from 6:30 to 10:30 pm. Reservations are recommended so please call ahead 587-457-2667.

The Velvet Olive Lounge is bringing in local live music this Friday and Saturday from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Bobby Lynn will be performing on Friday and Carl (C-Note) Stretton on Saturday. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to show up early.
