Christmas holidays are upon us and with all of this extra time on your hands, you will likely be looking for things to do! Here are a few ways to keep the spirit of Christmas alive as you Explore Red Deer’s Backyard.

The City of Red Deer maintains over 23 km of winter trails for all to enjoy throughout the season. So why not go for a walk and marvel at the beautiful decorations hanging in festive abundance amongst the trees, see how many you can find!

Purchase or rent a digital copy of Red Deer College’s Nutcracker Ballet and snuggle up for an evening of entertainment. Why not round the night out with some delicious food from our plentiful list of local restaurants like Bo’s Bar and Stage which offer curbside pick up and delivery options.

Family game night is a classic way to spend time together and is sure to offer some laughs and a little friendly competition. So pull out those family favourites or add a new game to your collection from one of our local shops like Wizard’s Loft.

Nothing says winter in Red Deer like ice skating, we boast a whopping 77 outdoor ice surfaces from outdoor boarded rinks to 3 pond skating locations and a speed skating oval. Don’t forget only 10 people per rink is permitted and please maintain 2 meters from others.

All of those extra holiday goodies might entice you to get back into your fitness regime. To keep you on track from home, the City of Red Deer is offering a series of virtual fitness classes. These virtual classes are inclusive for people of all ages, fitness levels, and interests.
