Gaetz Lake Sanctuary Loop

Since 1924, Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary has been protected as a federal migratory bird sanctuary and is now part of Waskasoo Park. Spanning 118 hectares, the Sanctuary provides an important habitat for a diverse range of plants and wildlife, including songbirds, waterfowl, birds of prey, deer, moose, foxes, and coyotes.

Explore five kilometers of walking trails, a bird blind, and viewing decks while experiencing a variety of natural habitats. To help protect this sensitive ecosystem, visitors must remain on designated trails, and pets, cycling, jogging, skiing, rollerblading, and scootering are not permitted.
