The RDRWA presents our inaugural Cycling Learning Journey, which will take place on August 23rd. We invite you to join us for a unique two-wheel view of the Red Deer River watershed, as we highlight a few of the special places and people in our watershed in celebration of Water Quality Awareness Month! We hope to get people on their bikes and onto the TransCanada bike trail ready to explore. Stops along the tour will include presentations and talks from stewardship groups working to keep the watershed healthy, dynamic and sustainable. About the Bike Trip This bike tour is suitable for participants ages 15 and up. Please ensure that you bring your own bicycle with you for the tour, as rental bicycles are not available. The pace and route of the bike trip will be moderate to low intensity; it is aimed to accommodate the average cyclist. However, please ensure that you will feel comfortable riding the bike you bring for the day, as we will be cycling a distance of approximately 30 km over the course of the day. The tour will be guided by JP Fortin, a professional guide. The cost of the tour is $25.00 per person. This includes a professional guide, refreshments and beverages throughout as well as High Tea at After the Grind. The RDRWA aims to keep this event affordable and accessible to its members and has subsidized the cost of this trip. More details including speakers and definitive tour stops will be announced soon. Stay tuned!
