Wet Felted Slippers Workshop Sunday, November 22 From 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m at the Kerry Wood Nature centre Create a pair of slippers using the resist method. The resist method creates a 3-D fabric without seams or sewing required. We will begin with learning how to design and lay out the wool to create a three dimensional object, how wool shrinks and then customize the project to fit your feet. This project will require shaping and sizing the slippers in class so the finished product will be a pair of slippers for yourself (or someone with the same size feet as you). Slipper making is a fun and energetic experience. You can choose bootie (slipper comes just above the ankle) or slipper style. You can further modify your slippers at home by adding moccasin leather (at your own cost) for soles. It is recommended that participants have some experience in textiles or previous felting experience. Participants should be prepared for getting a little wet (bring a work apron) and for standing for long periods of time. Please bring 2 old towels Please note that everyone who attends this program must wear a mask! Ages 13 and up. $95/youth or $95+GST/adult. Pre-registration required by November 18 at 4:30 p.m. Please bring two old towels and a work apron; all other materials provided. Participants should be prepared to get a little wet and stand for long periods of time. Limited number of spaces available. Visit www.waskasoopark.ca to register or call 403-346-2010.
