Wet Felting Workshop: Short Scarf with Button Saturday, October 17 From 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Design and create a hand felted scarf out of super soft merino wool and Margilan silk gauze using the nuno felting technique. This creates a very lightweight wearable piece of art. Learn how to lay out thin layers of wool to create a short wraparound scarf with a button. Choose how to customize your scarf to make it unique—design ideas will include how to join different silk fabrics, create holes and openings for fastening the scarf in place, colour layering, and incorporating embellishments like silk hankies and wool locks. This is an advanced project; previous felting experience is recommended. There will be a lunch break midway through the workshop. Please bring your own food and drinks. Ages 13 and up. $95/youth or $95+GST/adult. Pre-registration required by October 15 at 4:30 p.m. Please bring two old towels, a work apron, and a lunch; all other materials provided. Participants should be prepared to get a little wet and stand for long periods of time. Limited number of spaces available.
