It has been a long wait, but the Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery (MAG) is ready to re-open to the public. The MAG will open on Thursday, July 2nd, and will have reduced hours, Monday through Friday from 10:00 am-4:30 pm. Since we are only allowed no more than 50 visitors in accordance with the social distancing measures at the MAG , we will be moving to free ticketed admission. Free timed-entry tickets can be booked in advance online at www.reddeermuseum.com. Other changes include enhanced cleaning, hand sanitizing stations, and posting helpful signage because of the safety of our visitors and staff is our top priority. Visitors can enjoy a new temporary art exhibit, plus some display changes and a community exhibit in Remarkable Red Deer: Stories from the Heart of the Parkland. The exhibition Shore Figures: Sylvan Lake by Benalto artist Dave More will be on display at the Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery (MAG) July 2, 2020 to September 5, 2020. The Community Wall in Remarkable Red Deer will display the community-focused exhibit COVID-19: Unprecedented Times, on display starting July 2. “We are looking forward to welcoming our visitors back into the building,” We hope you will enjoy some of the changes we have made to our permanent exhibit, as well as the Shore Figures: Sylvan Lake paintings by Dave More. We plan to resume more of our regular programs in September. Until then, please check out our blog and Facebook posts. We hope to see you soon!” For more details regarding the exhibitions, Shore Figures: Sylvan Lake and COVID-19: Unprecedented Times contact Kim Verrier, Exhibitions Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org, 403-309-8440.
