The Red Deer Justice Film Festival has been in Red Deer since 2008. It is a non-profit event run entirely through sponsorship and donations and is free to the public. The vision of the festival promotes awareness of global issues and activate our community through documentary films exploring a range of diverse topics, groups, and perspectives. During the festival weekend, a series of documentaries chosen from a submission pool of more than 1000 filmmakers from over 100 countries is presented over three days Many screenings include a discussion with a speaker - an expert on the film's topic - in order to promote thought-provoking conversations following the film. The festival also hosts an NGO Village - local organizations brought together to provide more education and resources that are accessible right here in Red Deer. Check out their website for the 2020 film schedule.
