As a classically trained painter, Jeff Powers has used traditional media (paint, pencil, ink) for several of the works displayed, but mostly employs new digital techniques to create his art. Utilising his skills in much the same way as with brush and paint, he has used digital brushes and paint to create many of the pieces in this show. Ornithurae features over 20 works depicting North American birds, most of them local to Central Alberta, illustrated in acrylic paint, pen & ink, and new media. Jeff’s work highlights the dinosaur connection of Alberta birds.
