The earliest mandalas have been found in Buddhist art from the 14th century. Mandala means circle – they have been used as a spiritual and ritual symbol of the universe in Hinduism and Buddhism. Today, we will be using string to create our own mandalas.
Drop in family art making!
MAGnificent Saturdays welcomes all ages and abilities to participate in a fun art project every week! Work with a local artist to get your project going or on your own with a set of customized instructions. We supply the artist, materials, the studio and the instructions – you supply the imagination! This is a wonderful opportunity for learning, creating and exploring new materials!
-Cost: $5 per person/$10 for family (2 adults and all their children under 18 in same household)
-Frequent participant? All MAGnificent Saturdays drop-ins are included in a MAG Annual family membership for $30/yr or grandparent membership $25/yr.
-Drop-in… no registration required
-Ages 3 & under are free
-Create art with your kids!
-Saturday afternoons from 1:00 – 4:00 pm
-Programs offered all year round
-Activities take approx. 20-45 minutes to complete
