Kick up your heels for Family Day long weekend with the Canada Winter Games Family Dance, taking place from 5 – 8 pm on Monday February 18th, 2019 at the Canada House Tent in the Gary W. Harris Celebration Plaza. This festival location is near Central Middle School, 5205 48 Ave in Red Deer. Based on community dances of days gone by, the evening will feature live music with Frannie Klein, and a DJ to get everyone dancing.
This special edition Family Day Dance party begins at 5pm with the DJ and the Frannie Klein and her live band performing at 6:00pm.
‘Friday Family Dances’ are presented by the Country Pride Dance Club, Red Deer Arts Council, Red Deer Cultural Heritage Society, Red Deer Native Friendship Society, and The City of Red Deer (Culture Services.) These partners want all individuals in our community to experience affordable opportunities for multi-generational dancing, to learn the dances from our unique prairie heritage and to enjoy the physical, mental and social benefits of dancing together.
