Clean Air Day is a national event that raises awareness and encourages action on clean air and climate change issues. At the Kerry Wood Nature Centre we will be celebrating it with free activities such as Hourly guided bike rides (bring your own bike and helmet!) along with a tune-up clinic and a bicycle decoration station. Check out the Dirty Sock Challenge, an interesting display showing how much contaminants vehicles can really put into the air or come for a walk and learn about lichen health and how air quality can affect lichen growth. Plant a tree with the help of a knowledgeable guide in the Sanctuary and take part in the clean air art projects. You can also Enjoy free transit! Red Deer Transit and BOLT Regional Transit Service are free all day on June 5. Email cleanair@reddeer.ca and tell us how your ride goes to be entered into a ballot to win a 12 free ride pass donated by Red Deer Transit!
