The Red Deer Arts Council is excited to present a new monthly Open Mic event offering the literary artists in our community the opportunity to read their new works in front of a live, friendly, and supportive audience! We have partnered with the lovely folks at Sweet Capone’s for “Brave New Words”! This 18+ event will feature a signature drink, “The Hemingway” for our first night out on September 13th! Come join us every 2nd Friday of the Month at Sweet Capone’s Red Deer location to test out your new writing. It can be poetry, a short story, a textbook, or even an excerpt from your latest novel! We’ll have some live music to start the night and some other good fun throughout the night! Doors open 7pm (not before) and readings start at 7:30! Bring your writing, buy a cannoli and some nosh and speak your written words on our little stage. The event is free to attend, but tipping the hat is encouraged for our musician! We’d love to see you there!
