Art Speaks is a learning series held on select Wednesday evenings co-presented by the Red Deer Arts Council (RDAC) and Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery (MAG). Date Night! Bring your Valentine to explore the fashion of the 1920’s through costume designer Jesslyn Miller’s personal collection of original pieces and learn how she reproduces them for the stage. You may even get to see a mini-fashion show of 1920s inspired clothing! Registration is required. The cost to attend each session is $8 for valid MAG/RDAC members or $10 each for non-members. Non-refundable. For ages 18+. Register below. Refreshments are available for purchase onsite. *Must hold a valid MAG Membership in order to receive the member rate. Become a MAG member to receive member pricing! About Jesslyn Miller Jesslyn Miller was born and raised in Rocky Mountain House and currently lives west of Caroline, Alberta. Attending Red Deer College, she received her Diploma in Theatre Performance. She went on to earn her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theatre Production and Design with a specialization in Costume Design (summa cum laude) from York University in Toronto. Jesslyn now works as a Costume and Jewellery Designer, Textile and Theatre Artist in Central Alberta and is currently Costume Designer in Residence for Improv Jelly and is Directing Spamalot for Northern Crossing. Jesslyn is a collector of many vintage and antique items and maintains a large collection of textiles and clothing that she uses as costumes for the stage, to preserve for posterity and her own educational study.
