The Town of Sylvan Lake is celebrating Halloween and the entire month of October with a variety of new events and experiences that feature foods, frights and fun.
Pumpkin House at Lions Park | October 1 - 31
Celebrate the season in Sylvan Lake with an all new art installation of a Pumpkin House, located at Lions Park in connection with the Municipal Government Building. The Pumpkin House will be activated for the month of October as an attraction for our community to visit with the traditions and spirit of Halloween.
*Please note: These pumpkins are not to be taken off the house. Please respect the area.
Fall Foods Tour | October 3 – 31
Fall is all about the harvest and food, and October is a month-long celebration of the tastes of the season. Experience delicious fall foods all month long from some of the best that Sylvan Lake vendors have to offer!
Pumpkin Carving Contest | October 1 - 31
Halloween and pumpkin carving go hand-in-hand. Take part in a traditional pumpkin carving competition with your fellow Lakers! Carve or decorate your pumpkin and post your submission on the Pumpkin Carving Contest Facebook page! Three random winners will be chosen at the end of the month, with winners each receiving a $100 gift card to a local business of their choice as well as some Town of Sylvan Lake prizes!
*Pumpkins must be carved or otherwise decorated in some way in order to qualify
*Winner will be announced Monday, November 2 and contacted directly to pick up prizes
*Submissions will be accepted until 11:59pm on October 31
Curiosities Shoppes of Centennial Street | October 12 - 31
Local businesses will be transforming into the magic and spirit of Halloween with unique items for sale, activities, and featured makers with locally made artisan goods. Spooky Outdoor Movie | Thursday, October 29
Get in the spirit of Halloween with our Spooky Outdoor Movie Night! Grab a lawn chair, head down to Lakefront Park, and nestle up to your safely distanced, private fire pit while watching a festive flick in the crisp fall air. This back-to-back showing will kick off with a 6 pm family-friendly movie, and transition to something a little spookier at 8:30 pm for teens and adults to enjoy. Be sure to show off your costume and get a shot at the Best Costume prize!
Limited space is available! $40/per space, per show time. Each space accommodates up to six people per movie.
Show times: 6:00 pm & 8:30 pm

Downtown Trick or Treat | October 31 | 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Dress up and enjoy free candy from participating downtown businesses. Look for the Halloween Treats Inside poster!
Pumpkin Trail | November 1 - 6
After Halloween, help build the Pumpkin Trail by placing your pumpkin in a lineup starting at the Pumpkin House at Lions Park and continuing down the trail by the NexSource Centre (the world record for the longest line of carved pumpkins is 4,164 in the UK!)
